A blustery day with some close racing resulted in Jailbreak and Zhen joint first on placings, with Renegade third.
Jailbreak inched ahead by 30 secs on combined corrected times – Jailbreak 1:14:27 – Zhen 1:14:57
NOTE: the Renegade time is unconfirmed.
Apologies from the RO for some delays and problems on the day, due in part to a learning curve and the strong conditions. Some changes required… order will be restored!
Signature Series – final results
There are one or two instances where corrected times are not identical with results published for individual races because of the difficulty of changing a boat’s handicap during the series (e.g. rated with or without spinnakers). This has not affected the final series placings.
Interclub: Final positions
WCA Sailing Sec apologises for announcing an incorrect result in haste soon after the race. The series totals with discards had not been totalled.
Congratulations to Interclub Series Winners Seventh Heaven, with Jailbreak in 2nd place and Heartbeat 3rd. (Sorry John!)
The Interclub Trophy is scored by combining results from the three race days into a series. There was one discard after 5 races.
Interclub: Races 1 and 2 – 17th May

Interclub: Races 5 and 6 – 6th Sept
Midsummer Trophy – 22 June
True grit from Jailbreak who were the first and only finisher after persevering through very light airs with an elapsed time of 5 hrs, 38 mins, 5 secs.
The rest of the fleet was eventually becalmed after Belle Isle.
Spin Off Trophy – final positions. End of Season Trophy.
Adding a discard to this Trophy evened out the results but did not affect a possible tie between Jailbreak and Seventh Heaven.
Discards are allocated to the first available lower result in the series, but adding all race times together left Seventh Heaven ahead by an impossibly tight margin of 27 seconds. Jailbreak were behind by 0.21%. YTC works eh Graham!
Pursuit Series – final positions
Congratulations to Jailbreak and Zhen who share series honours this year.
Zhen wins the end of season trophy for the last race, run in challenging conditions. A special mention for Zhen’s young crew and Pipistrelle, single handed by Andrew.
Race 4 (below) was added to the calendar at short notice to replace the cancelled Signature race from the week before. Thanks to Mariska for organising.
Good to see many new boats in the fleet (increases the DNC score).
Just one or two competitors in each race next year would improve the spread of results.
